HUNT­ING, FISH­ING: The HAHS Hunt­ing and Fish­ing Club would like to con­duct an in­door archery league for all dis­trict stu­dents in grades nine to 12. There will be an in­for­ma­tional meet­ing Wed­nes­day from 2:45 to 3:15 p.m. in Ca­reer Cen­ter Room A25 for any in­ter­ested stu­dent. If you can’t make this meet­ing, please con­tact Mr. Festa at the Ca­reer Cen­ter or through the dis­trict email. SE­NIOR PIC­TURES:

Due to snow days, se­nior pic­tures have been resched­uled. They will now be taken Feb. 20, with a snow date of Feb. 22.

CLASS OF 2022: There will be a meet­ing Tues­day af­ter school in Room 238 for all ex­ec­u­tive coun­cil mem­bers. This meet­ing is manda­tory.

SPIRIT CLUB: Spirit Club is kick­ing off a new pro­gram, Read With the Cougars! We are invit­ing all in­ter­ested stu­dent-ath­letes cur­rently in­volved in a win­ter sport to vol­un­teer to travel to our dis­trict’s el­e­men­tary schools to read to stu­dents and dis­cuss your in­volve­ment in Cougar ath­let­ics. Stop by Room 140 to sign up with Mrs. Reggie, or let your coach know you’re in­ter­ested. Our first vis­its will take place next week. NEWS­PA­PER CAN­DLE SALE: The HAHS Cougar Chit Chat staff will be sell­ing Yan­kee can­dles. Please see Miss Oster in Room 109, email her at os­[email protected] k12.org or con­tact any mem­ber of the news­pa­per staff to pur­chase these items. They will be de­liv­ered in plenty of time for spring break and Mother’s Day and will make great gifts.

COL­LEGE VISIT: At­ten­tion se­niors, Lock Haven Uni­ver­sity will be here for an in­stant de­ci­sion day Wed­nes­day in the li­brary. Sign up in guid­ance.

PSAT: PSAT 10 will be April 9. This is a “prac­tice” SAT. The cost is $16. Sign up in guid­ance. First-come, first­served ba­sis.

SPRING SPORTS: Sports clinic for spring sports in the 2018-19 school term will be held Feb. 23 at the Ca­reer Cen­ter. Note the change in lo­ca­tion for this clinic. Sports clin­ics pro­vide the op­por­tu­nity for stu­dents to ob­tain the re­quired PIAA phys­i­cal be­fore par­tic­i­pat­ing in any sport. Re­cer­ti­fi­ca­tions are ac­cepted for spring sports if you played a fall or win­ter sport. Re­cer­ti­fi­ca­tion forms

are avail­able in the nurse’s of­fice. All phys­i­cals must be dated af­ter June 1, 2018. See a nurse for a list of sports and forms. Stu­dents must re­turn forms to the nurse by Feb. 20 to re­ceive an ap­point­ment for sports clinic.

BASE­BALL: Any Ha­zle­ton Area stu­dent in grades nine through 12 in­ter­ested in play­ing base­ball for the school this up­com­ing sea­son is in­vited to par­tic­i­pate in open work­outs at HARP, 601 S. Po­plar St., start­ing Sun­day from 6 to 7:30 p.m. These work­outs will run ev­ery Sun­day un­til try­outs March 4. These work­outs are also free of charge.
