HUNTING, FISHING: The HAHS Hunting and Fishing Club would like to conduct an indoor archery league for all district students in grades nine to 12. There will be an informational meeting Wednesday from 2:45 to 3:15 p.m. in Career Center Room A25 for any interested student. Due to snow days, senior pictures have been rescheduled. They will now be taken Feb. 20, with a snow date of Feb. 22.
CLASS OF 2022: There will be a meeting Tuesday after school in Room 238 for all executive council members. This meeting is mandatory.
SPIRIT CLUB: Spirit Club is kicking off a new program, Read With the Cougars! We are inviting all interested student-athletes currently involved in a winter sport to volunteer to travel to our district’s elementary schools to read to students and discuss your involvement in Cougar athletics. Stop by Room 140 to sign up with Mrs. Reggie, or let your coach know you’re interested. Our first visits will take place next week. NEWSPAPER CANDLE SALE: The HAHS Cougar Chit Chat staff will be selling Yankee candles. Please see Miss Oster in Room 109, email her at os[email protected] k12.org or contact any member of the newspaper staff to purchase these items. They will be delivered in plenty of time for spring break and Mother’s Day and will make great gifts.
COLLEGE VISIT: Attention seniors, Lock Haven University will be here for an instant decision day Wednesday in the library. Sign up in guidance.
PSAT: PSAT 10 will be April 9. This is a “practice” SAT. The cost is $16. Sign up in guidance. First-come, firstserved basis.
SPRING SPORTS: Sports clinic for spring sports in the 2018-19 school term will be held Feb. 23 at the Career Center. Note the change in location for this clinic. Sports clinics provide the opportunity for students to obtain the required PIAA physical before participating in any sport. Recertifications are accepted for spring sports if you played a fall or winter sport. Recertification forms
are available in the nurse’s office. All physicals must be dated after June 1, 2018. See a nurse for a list of sports and forms. Students must return forms to the nurse by Feb. 20 to receive an appointment for sports clinic.
BASEBALL: Any Hazleton Area student in grades nine through 12 interested in playing baseball for the school this upcoming season is invited to participate in open workouts at HARP, 601 S. Poplar St., starting Sunday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. These workouts will run every Sunday until tryouts March 4. These workouts are also free of charge.
