Fran­cis Richard DesRoches, 94, of 308 Mont­ford Dr., Roxboro, died Satur­day, Novem­ber 3, 2018. Born in Mid­dle­sex Co., MA, Mr. Des Roches was the son of the late John Bap­tist and Zella DesRoches. Mr. DesRoches served in the US Army dur­ingWWII and was a June 6 D-Day sur­vivor. Af­ter the war, he was em­ployed by the gov­erne­ment’s de­fense map­ping agency-to­po­graphic cen­ter in the de­part­ment of graphic arts. He re­tired af­ter 31 years. In ad­di­tion to his par­ents, he is pre­ceded in death by his broth­ers El­ric and Leo and his sis­ter Emelda.

Mr. DesRoches is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife, Joan Coss DesRoches; three step- chil­dren, Rose­marie Wilk­er­son ( Michael), of Roxboro, Nancy Con­ner ( Michael), of Weather­ford, TX and Ken­neth O’Boyle (Terry), of Car­roll­ton, VA; one step- grand­daugh­ter, Court­ney Vin­coli ( Michael); two step­great­grand­chil­dren, Ni­cholas Vin­coli and Wil­liam Vin­coli; two nieces, Myrna Hodges (Mar­i­lyn) of Char­lotte and Michelle Chalumo, of Hat­boro, PA.

A me­mo­rial mass will be held 5PM Satur­day, Novem­ber 17, 2018 at Sts. Mary Ed­ward Catholic Church, Roxboro by the Fa­ther Wil­liam Ro­driguez.
