City to hold side­walks meet­ing

If you travel along LaSalle Street in Durham, you’ll want to mark your cal­en­dar for a meet­ing later this month to dis­cuss side­walk de­signs for this busy road­way.

The Pub­lic Works Depart­ment is in the de­sign phase for side­walks and ac­ces­si­bil­ity ramps be­tween Kan­ga­roo Drive and Hills­bor­ough Road as well as along one side of LaSalle Street from Hills­bor­ough Road to Sprunt Av­enue.

A drop-in style meet­ing to share the de­signs and col­lect feed­back will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tues­day, Jan. 15 at the E.K. Powe Ele­men­tary School Cafe­te­ria, at 913 Ninth St. Res­i­dents will be able to re­view the plans so far, ask ques­tions of city staff, and pro­vide their in­put be­fore the depart­ment com­pletes the fi­nal de­sign plans.

For res­i­dents who can­not at­tend this meet­ing, maps and a com­ment form to col­lect feed­back will be avail­able af­ter the meet­ing date on the pro­ject web­site at durhamnc.gov /3307/De­sign-Ser­vices­for

Res­i­dent feed­back is due by Jan. 29.
