Ivan Reitman, the influential filmmaker and producer behind beloved comedies from Animal House to Ghostbusters, died Feb. 12 in Montecito, California. He was 75.
David Brenner, the film editor who won an Oscar for
Oliver Stone’s Born on the Fourth of July, one of nine movies he cut for the director, died Feb. 17 in West Hollywood. He was 59.
Luster Bayless, the legendary Hollywood costumer and costume designer who outfitted John Wayne in features including McLintock!, True Grit and The Shootist, died Feb. 11 in Canyon Country, California. He was 84.
Brenda Deiss, the breakout star of Sean Baker’s 2021 indie darling Red Rocket, died Feb. 14 in Clear Lake, Texas, after suffering a stroke. She was 60.
Alfred Sole, who cowrote and directed the cult horror film Alice, Sweet Alice, died Feb. 14 by suicide in Salt Lake City. He was 78.
Seymour Wishman,
producer and president of First Run Features, died Jan. 29 in Bridgewater, Connecticut.
He was 79.
