Sarah Paulson on Why She’s Supporting To Leslie

The stars are coming out for Andrea Riseborough’s turn in Michael Morris’ indie drama To Leslie. Jennifer Aniston, Charlize Theron, Sarah Paulson and Edward Norton have hosted screenings, with upcoming showings booked by Gwyneth Paltrow and Courteney Cox. Frances Fisher, Rosanna Arquette, Debra Winger, Patricia Clarkson and Howard Stern have joined the chorus of fans of the film, which centers on a West Texas single mother who wins a modest $190,000 lottery sum only to squander it in short order. Years later, she fights to rebuild a life. Making a splash with low-budget indie features, especially during a crowded awards season, has always been a challenge, which is why the support from boldfaced names means so much, says Morris. “We can’t even afford an ad. We live or die by people’s reactions to the film,” he says. Paulson said her reaction to the film is what motivated her to get involved. “Movies like this, made for little money — that are this powerful and true — should be given the same attention and consideration as those that have huge studios and therefore budgets behind them. Anything I could do to help bring eyes to it, would mean I was doing something for all of us as actors and moviegoers.”

Baz Luhrmann on ‘Subtle Connection’ Between Presley and Spears in

Elvis

RCA Records officially released the remix mashup of Elvis Presley’s “Viva Las Vegas” and Britney Spears’ “Toxic” that was

featured in Baz Luhrmann’s biopic Elvis but didn’t make the cut for the soundtrack. Hours before the track hit YouTube, Luhrmann teased its debut while walking the red carpet at the Palm Springs Film Awards, adding that by featuring the Spears song in his film, he alluded to a “subtle connection” between the superstars. “She’s a gifted and talented artist, and all gifted and talented artists walk a high wire. What she’s been through — this is probably not the forum for me to comment on it, but others have said that there is a direct line between Elvis’ journey and Britney’s journey,” said the Aussie auteur, who confirmed that Spears approved the sample (“She loved the idea”) and has long been known to be a fan of the King of Rock ’n’ Roll. “They both had to contend with very, very complicated relationships. Let’s just leave it at that.”

Robert Downey Jr. to Turn Car Collection into Force for Climate Action: ‘This Will Be My Legacy’

Robert Downey Jr. took a long look at his impressive car collection and asked himself a tough question: “You schmuck … what are you trying to prove?” So explained the actor during a recent sitdown with THR’s Scott Feinberg when asked about his upcoming Discovery+ docuseries Downey’s Dream Cars. The unscripted series — produced by Team Downey, the production banner he founded with wife Susan, along with Boat Rocker Media’s Matador Content — will see a team of experts reimagine his prized cars to be more eco-friendly. “I’m going to sweepstakes them and donate all the proceeds to green tech companies,” he said, “because this will be my legacy.”

How to Buy Beth Dutton’s $995 Faux-Fur Lynx Coat

(Kelly Reilly) can pick up her $85 turquoise earrings, a blue Aztec coat for $1,495 or a faux-fur lynx coat for $995. “The creators put all the elements together, and then what we do is make them shoppable,” says 101 CEO and Yellowstone executive producer

David Glasser. Shop the Scenes debuted with Yellowstone and now offers items from spinoffs 1883 and 1923, as well as the Sylvester Stallone starrer Tulsa King, Netflix’s Emily in Paris and NBC’s Today.
