How Can Companies Reduce Bias in the Hiring Process

Research shows that the hiring process is biased and unfair. Unconscious sexism, ageism, and racism play a monumental role in whom we hire. There are steps you can take to recognize and reduce these biases. Where do you start? How can you help your organization do the same?

Unconscious biases cause us to make decisions in favor of one person or group to the loss of others. In the workplace, this can undermine diversity, recruiting and retention efforts. Biases can also shape a company’s culture and norms. HR Managers and Hiring Managers have to learn to de-bias their recruitment processes.
