Rangers get 1st win at Barclays Center vs. Isles
Mats Zuccarello scored late in the third period and the visiting New York Rangers beat the Islanders 2-1 on Saturday for their first ever win at Barclays Center.
Zuccarello redirected the winner with his skate from in front of the net for his fifth goal of the season. Filip Chytil also scored and Alexandar Georgiev made 24 saves to help the Rangers win in Brooklyn for the first time since the Islanders began playing home games there in 2015.
The Islanders had been 13-2-0 in the teams’ previous 15 meetings overall. Devils 3, Flyers 2: Rookie Mackenzie Blackwood returned to the lineup after missing three games with an injury and made 32 saves in leading the host Devils over the Flyers.
Damon Severson, Nico Hischier and Miles Wood scored as the Devils won for the second time in six games and handed the Flyers their ninth loss in the past 10 games (1-7-2)
James Van Riemsdyk and Sean Couturier scored for Philadelphia. Carter Hart gave the Flyers a chance, making 23 saves.
Penguins: Jake Guentzel scored three times, Phil Kessel got the tiebreaking goal midway through the third period and the visiting Penguins rallied from an early three-goal deficit for a 7-4 victory over the Ducks, sending Anaheim to its 10th consecutive loss.
Hurricanes: Sebastian Aho scored two goals off the skates of Buffalo defensemen, and host Carolina held on for a 4-3 win to spoil Jeff Skinner’s return to Raleigh.
Flames: Michael Frolik had a goal and two assists to lead streaking Calgary to a 4-3 comeback victory over visiting Florida.
Jets: Kyle Connor had a goal and two assists as host Winnipeg defeated Detroit 4-2.
