Roberta G. Murray, 91, of Potter, Nebraska, died at Kimball Health Services April 7, with family at her side. Cremation has been held and family services were held at the Dix Community Center. Roberta was born in Pueblo, Colorado on Nov. 3, 1927, the daughter of Robert and Laverna (Huffman) Craig. She moved with her family to El Paso, Texas at an early age where she attended and graduated from high school in 1945. Following graduation she worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company. Roberta was married to Rex Hosmer Murray in El Paso, Texas on Dec. 22, 1955, and Rex adopted her son, Verne Clair Carman. In 1958, Gail Jean was born to the marriage. Rex preceded her in death in 1966. She lived in Tucson, Arizona and Albuquerqu­e after leaving El Paso in 1980. She settled in Estancia until 2012, when she moved to Potter. Roberta had a very artistic mind, and she enjoyed knitting, crochet, ceramics and cake decorating. She was an avid reader. Roberta knew no strangers and enjoyed conversati­ons with everybody. Roberta remained quick-witted and sharp until the time of her death. Survivors include her son Verne C. Murray of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter Gail (Sam) Dunkle of Dix, Nebraska; sister Patti Apostilide­s of St. George, Utah; 12 grandchild­ren and 17 greatgrand­children and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Rodney, Johnny, and Freddy Craig; sister Lorena Craig Foster, and grandson Talon Dunkle.
