William M. O’dwyer 1958 – 2019
William (Bill) M. O’dwyer, 61, passed away May 28 in Edgewood. He was born Jan. 22, 1958 in Ellicott City, Maryland. William enjoyed the outdoors especially hiking. He also loved making stained glass projects. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. William was preceded in death by his father, Michael W. O’dwyer; daughter, Sommer O’dwyer and brother Robert O’dwyer. William is survived by his mother, Marguerite Martin; significant other, Kelly Springer; sisters, Helen Ditzel and Katy Steadley, and brothers-in-law, William Ditzel and Hunter Steadley. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Jerry A. Montoya Sr. 1952 – 2019
Jerry A. Montoya Sr., 66, passed away June 10 in Albuquerque. He was born July 24, 1952 in Albuquerque, to the late Nicholas and Altagracia (Aragon) Montoya. Jerry was a lifetime resident of Tajique. He loved to spend his time riding his Harley, watching wrestling and hunting. He loved listening to and playing music, but his favorite pastime was playing with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Nick Montoya; sister, Maria Anaya and nephews, Gilbert Montoya and Nicholas Montoya. Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Betty Montoya; sons, Jerry Montoya Jr. and wife Emilia and Isidro Montoya and wife Jessica and brother, Louie Montoya and wife Oralia; and four grandchildren, Augustine, Asha, Nathaniel and Matthew. A memorial service is scheduled June 22 at the San Antonio Catholic Church in Tajique. The Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. with the Celebration of Mass to follow at 11. Pallbearers will be Felix Barela, Rick Chavez, Cecil Chavez, Frank Anaya, Jerry Sanchez and Ernest Padilla. Honorary pallbearers will be Augustine Montoya and Nathaniel Montoya. Burial will be at the San Antonio Cemetery in Tajique.
Carol Y. Thul 1938 – 2019
Carol Y. Thul, 81, passed away May 25. She was born in Rockwell, Iowa, on Feb. 25, 1938. Carol was a resident of Edgewood for 39 years. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. Carol is survived by her husband, Ronald J. Thul of Edgewood; two daughters, Karen and Shelly Clay, also from Edgewood; three grandchildren, Richard Smith of Denver, Colorado, Stevie Thul of Denver, Colorado, and Steffie Benson of Tacoma, Washington; and greatgranddaughter, Lydia Marie Thul of Denver, Colorado. No services have been scheduled at this time.
