Weekend Forecast: Hot and dry
Low pressure slowly drifting west across New Mexico will interact with abundant monsoon moisture. This will bring showers and thunderstorms Friday and Saturday across the East Mountains. Temperatures will be cool with heavy rain possible. High pressure will build southeast from the Great Basin on Sunday. The result will be warmer temperatures and decreasing chances of showers and thunderstorms.
For Edgewood, Moriarty and the Estancia Valley, expect showers and thunderstorms Friday through Saturday. Locally heavy rain is possible. High temperatures Friday will be in the lower to middle 70s and on Saturday in the middle to upper 70s. Low temperatures Friday and Saturday nights will be in the lower to middle 50s. There is a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms on Sunday. High temperatures on Sunday will be in the lower to middle 80s.
For Cedar Crest, Tijeras and Sedillo areas, expect showers and thunderstorms Friday through Saturday. Locally heavy rain is possible. High temperatures Friday will be in the lower to middle 70s and on Saturday in the middle to upper 70s. Low temperatures Friday and Saturday nights will be in the middle to upper 50s. There is a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms on Sunday. High temperatures on Sunday will be in the lower 80s.
