OBITUARY
Willa Jean Mathews (Evans) of Mountainair passed away peacefully on Sept. 9, at the age of 91. Willa Jean was born Dec. 27, 1929 in Red Mesa, Colorado. She is survived by her husband, Jack Mckinley Mathews of 27 years; daughter, Beverly Lynn Lockridge and husband Tommy; daughter, Donna Lou Mathews; grandson, Kenneth Lockridge and wife Valerie; grandson, Dustin Lockridge and wife Brooke; greatgrandchildren, Kimber Lockridge, Kason Lockridge, Aubrie Lockridge, Hank Lockridge, Nolan Lockridge, and a sixth one on the way; along with numerous cousins. Willa Jean was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers. Willa Jean retired from U.S. West Telephone Company of Albuquerque after 25 years and thereafter resided in Mountainair with her husband Jack and daughter Donna Lou. A viewing was held for Willa Jean on Sept. 15 at the Christian Center of Mountainair, followed by a graveside service at the Mathews family cemetery. Pallbearers were Guy Mathews, Warren Mathews, Kenneth Lockridge, Dustin Lockridge, Tim Kelly, and Walter Kingston. Honorary pallbearers were John Mathews and Steve Bernaue. A special thanks to Ageless living of Tomé and Corus Hospice of Albuquerque for the loving care they provided for Willa Jean.
