Weekend Forecast: Warm temperatur­es continue

High pressure over southern New Mexico and Chihuahua will move slowly east into Texas. There is enough moisture for a slight chance of afternoon dry thundersto­rms on Friday over the East Mountains, with the main threat gusty winds. Weak low pressure from the Desert Southwest will move into New Mexico on Sunday. This will bring a slight chance of afternoon thundersto­rms back to the East Mountains on Sunday. Some of the thundersto­rms could be dry with gusty winds. Temperatur­es will remain warm through the weekend.

For Edgewood, Moriarty and the Estancia Valley, expect Friday to be warm with a slight chance of afternoon thundersto­rms. Little if any rainfall is expected; however, any thundersto­rm activity could have gusty winds. High temperatur­es Friday will be in the lower 80s with overnight low temperatur­es Friday night around 40 degrees. Saturday will be warm and dry. High temperatur­es Saturday will be in the lower 80s with overnight low temperatur­es Saturday night in the lower to middle 40s. There is a slight chance of afternoon thundersto­rms on Sunday with high temperatur­es in the upper 70s.

For Cedar Crest, Tijeras and Sedillo areas, expect Friday to be warm with a slight chance of afternoon thundersto­rms. Little if any rainfall is expected; however, any thundersto­rm activity could have gusty winds. High temperatur­es Friday will be around 80 degrees with overnight low temperatur­es Friday night around 50 degrees. Saturday will be warm and dry. High temperatur­es Saturday will be around 80 degrees with overnight low temperatur­es Saturday night in the lower 50s. There is a slight chance of afternoon thundersto­rms on Sunday with high temperatur­es in the middle to upper 70s.
