Ronald Lee Green 1937 – 2022

-

Ronald Lee Green, 84, of Edgewood, passed away unexpectedly on August 18. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and will be missed dearly. Ronald was born on Nov. 8, 1937, to Lee Roy and Lenora Green in Mcalister. He grew up on a cattle ranch, the youngest boy in a family of four sisters and three brothers. He played basketball in high school and tennis at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, where he earned a B.A. in business administration. He also served in the U.S. Army. He started his career with the State Highway Department in Santa Fe as a real estate appraiser. It was there he met the woman who would be his wife—laurel Adams. He and Laurel married on Nov. 21, 1965, and had two daughters. Ron later joined the Bureau of Indian Affairs and moved his family to the Gallup office and then later to the Albuquerque office, where he remained until retirement. Ron and Laurel made the North Valley their home for nearly 50 years. Three years ago, they moved to Edgewood. Ron enjoyed the slower pace of the small town and stayed busy keeping the yard in shape, but his fondest activity was spending time with his family when everyone came over to visit. Everyone knew Ron to be a man of honor, integrity, and intelligence who was quick to offer a kind word and a helping hand. His family looked to him for guidance, knowledge, support, and love, and he never failed to deliver. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Lenora; siblings, Romane, Wayne, Waylon (Shorty), Ada Ruby, and Stanley. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Laurel; daughters, Shelby Green and Sherri Mostaghni; granddaughter, Alex Mostaghniliguori and her husband Matt; grandson, Michael Mostaghni and his wife Morgan; great-granddaughters Kieran, Finley, and Zoey Mostaghni; sisters, Coleene Morrison and Shirley Daniels; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services for Ron were held at Harris-hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty August 25. He was interred at Sunset

Memorial in Albuquerque following the service. Roping Faith Flowers & Boutique (505-362-3215) is arranging the flowers for the service.
