Joan Wilson Hilber

59, passed away November 22, 2023. She was born December 6, 1963 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Howard D. Wilson and Kathryn E. Long Wilson. Joan was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Lansing, Michigan, Class of 1981 and received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University. She married Joseph Edward Hilber on November 11, 1989. Joan worked as the Finance Manager for James River Corporation from 1986 to 1990, then CUNA & Affiliates from 1990-1999, then from 1999-2008 she worked at U.W. Health in Madison, Wisconsin, and from 2009-2014 she worked for Lab Corp.

Joan was a volunteer at the Indianapolis Zoo and loved to volunteer at the Kenneth Butler Soup Kitchen in Greenfield to help and be close to those who needed a warm smile and a friendly face to welcome them. She and her husband Joe were parishioners at Church of the Nativity for 15 years. They loved their church and their church family.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Nativity Catholic Church, 7225 Southeastern Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46239.

Joan is survived by her husband, Joseph E. Hilber; sister, Susan Cook (David); and brothers, Craig Wilson (Theresa) and Jeff Wilson (Diane). She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Scott Wilson.
