INDIANAPOL­IS - On February 27th, 2024, Alice Ann Burgess (Stiles), was called up by the Lord. She passed on exactly the same date, one year later, as her husband, Pat. Alice was a warm, loving, generous and funny woman who will be terribly missed by her children, grandchild­ren, great grandchild­ren, other family and friends.

Alice was born on December 7, 1942, to Helen G. Stiles and Donald W. Stiles at Coleman Hospital. She is survived by her brother, John Thomas Stiles, and her sister, Sandra (Susie) Stiles Lagoni. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and younger brother, Don W. Stiles Jr.

A 1961 graduate of Tudor Hall, she attended Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1965. She worked as a private duty nurse and later as the nurse at Bridgeport Brass.

Alice married James Patrick (Pat) Burgess in 1964. Pat had a daughter, Sonjia Lee Burgess, and a son, Anthony Len Burgess. In 1968 Alice and Pat had a son, Bryce Patrick Burgess.

Alice and Pat were devout Christians and members of the congregati­ons of North Liberty Christian Church, Crooked Creek Baptist Church and Ahavat Yeshua. Alice is survived by her son, Bryce, and her stepchildr­en, Sonjia and Anthony.

There will be a grave side service prior to interment with her husband on Friday, March 22nd, at 2 PM, at the Crown Hill National Cemetery located at 725 W. 42nd Street, Indianapol­is, Indiana.

She is now in the loving arms of husband, Pat, and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Alice, thank you for your passion, generosity, humor, sarcastic wit and most of all your love. Love and miss you forever – Bryce, Sonjia and Tony
