INDIANAPOLIS - Patricia L. Davaney was welcomed into Heaven to be with her late husband, Hassell (Jim) Davaney on March 30, 2024. Born January 12, 1932, she was a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Indiana. Pat is the youngest of two daughters, sister, Phyllis Wade (Cummins) who preceded her to heaven, both girls were predeceased by their parents, Charles E. and Anna E. Cummins. Pat, a graduate of Emmerich Manual Training High School met her life partner fresh out of the Korean War in 1952, and married soon after spending 60 years of wedded bliss together culminating in 2012. Pat was raised with Christian principles and a strong work ethic and embarked upon three careers in her long life. Starting with employment at Eli Lilly, until the first of two boys came along, and her motherly instinct took over. She knew that family was where she was to spend her second career and become a homemaker to raise her sons, Charles T. (Debra) and Gary W., both of Indianapolis, Indiana. Upon becoming an empty nester, she took her love of children and started her third and final career at Meridian Middle School when it first opened. Pat and her husband were charter members of Southport Christian Church along with being an active and 50 year life member of the Eastern Star at Southport Masonic Lodge, #270 F&AM. Her civic duties involved being a founding member of the Indianapolis Orchestra’s Southside Women’s Auxiliary. Her hobby was being devoted to providing a home where her “men” were number 1. As an accomplished cook, she provided many excellent home cooked meals making it hard to leave.
