INDIANAPOL­IS - Sarah Alice Boomershin­e, 101, of Indianapol­is, passed away on April 8, 2024, at Cedar Creek of Franklin Assisted Living, Franklin, IN. She was born on September 27, 1922, in Hattiesbur­g. MS, to the late Roby Elbert Eure and Helen Francis Bryan.

Sarah graduated from High School in Houston, MS. Where she was active in the school theatre, starring in the lead role in the senior play. She then attended Mississipp­i State College for Women before she was married to the love of her life, Robert on December 15, 1943. Sarah and Robert walked hand in hand for nearly 79 years before his passing in 2022. They enjoyed traveling, card club with friends, Golf, Bowling, and Ballroom Dancing. They were long-time members of the Southport Baptist Church (One Christian Church) where she was active in teaching Sunday school and the adult “Keenagers” group. For most of her adult life she served as wife and “stay at home” mother caring for her family and others. Sarah will be most remembered for her caring personalit­y, her smile, and her passion to play Bingo with her fellow residents and her love to sing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Roby E. (Sonny) Eure, and her son-in-law Robert Nordsiek.

She is survived by her sister Helen Joyce Lee of Hattiesbur­g, MS.; daughter, Janice G. (Robert) Nordsiek; son, R. Daniel (Kimberly); and daughter, D. Susanne (Richard) Anderson; seven grandchild­ren, and 14 great-grandchild­ren.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at G H Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapol­is, IN 46227, Visitation is prior to the service 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

A private graveside service at the cemetery will follow and will only be open to the immediate family.

Memorial contributi­ons may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
