In loving memory of Richard “Dick” Lawrence Dubish

Richard Lawrence Dubish, 85, of Indianapolis, IN, beloved husband and father passed away April 6th surrounded by the love of his life, devoted wife, Nano, and their four children: Rick, Dave, Mary and Pete.

Dick was born April 2nd, 1939 to Mary Stevens and Peter Dubish, of Hammond Indiana. Following his graduation from Ball State University, Dick proudly served in the United States Army for his country and remained a diehard patriot to the end.

A man of many talents and a heart full of love, his dedication to his family was unwavering, and his adoration for his wife of 61 years, Nano (Cloghessy), was a testament to a lifetime of love and commitment.

Dick was admired by all who knew him for his vibrant personality and warm heart. His witty sense of humor never failed to put a smile on your face or fill a room with laughter. He was a master of telling jokes and you knew he loved you if some of that humor was pointed in your direction. He has been known to introduce himself jovially as “Dick Dubish, friend of those who have no friends.” He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be forever cherished.

A true craftsman, Dick found solace and joy in woodworking. His creations, whether they were a finely carved gnome or a beautifully turned bowl, will continue to stand as evidence of his craftsmanship and passion. Outside of the workshop, Dick enjoyed being on the golf course. He spent countless hours honing his skills and relishing the camaraderie of the game with his friends and family.

In this time of grief, we celebrate a well-lived life and the memories that will forever fill our hearts. Dick will be deeply missed but never forgotten, and his beautiful soul will continue to live on through the love and memories of all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.

Those left to treasure and honor his memory are wife Nano (Cloghessy), sons Rick (Laura), Dave (Trish) and Pete, and daughter Mary Cacioppo (Ron), along with grandchildren Nicole, Richie, Alexandra, Ben, John, Drew and Dori, brother Ron, sisters Sharon Mose and Jeanette Sievers, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be welcome to either of the following: Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (smwc.edu) https://www.smwc.edu/ giving/ or Brightlane Learning - Every child has the right to an education https://brightlanelearning.org/
