The Island Packet (Sunday) - - Tv Week -

3 p.m. on WTOC-11 College Football

The passion! The pageantry! True, neither the Army Black Knights nor the Navy Midshipmen have fielded championshipcaliber teams in more than 50 years but that shouldn’t stop this annual clash, the 119th overall, at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field from being anything short of a spectacle. Certainly, the thousands of screaming fans in attendance will make things interesting in the stands, no matter what happens on the field.

8 p.m. on FREE Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings: Holiday Magic

Married dancers and choreographers Allison Holker and Stephen “tWitch” Boss co-host this all-new installment of enchanting nuptial ceremonies at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Since those Disney geniuses rarely miss a marketing opportunity, this year’s special throws a spotlight on the company’s huge Christmas movie release, “Mary Poppins Returns.”

8 p.m. on HALL Movie: Homegrown Christmas

After spending years successfully running her own company, shoe designer Maddie (Lori Loughlin) sells the business and accepts her mother’s (Gwyneth Walsh) invitation to come home for Christmas and reconnect with her long-ignored family. Her younger sister, Hallie (Kate Isaac), gives her a chilly reception, and things aren’t very comfortable for her with Carter (Victor Webster), the former beau she abandoned to move to New York. As Maddie begins to mend fences, another tempting business prospect lands in her lap.

8 p.m. on LIFE Movie: Santa’s Boots

Holly (Megan Hilty) isn’t expecting anything unusual when she makes her annual Christmas trip back to her hometown, where she’s totally blindsided by the news that the family business, a department store, is teetering on the brink of foreclosure in this new holiday gender-switched spin on “Cinderella.” Pitching in as Santa’s helper, Holly takes an instant liking to Nick (Noah Mills), the store’s surprisingly young Santa. As Christmas looms, however, Nick abruptly disappears, leaving Holly to search for him with only one clue: a black boot he left behind.

8 p.m. on HBO Movie: Ready Player One

Ernest Cline co-adapted his own best-selling 2011 sci-fi novel for Steven Spielberg’s 2018 adventure, which uses a combination of live-action and animation to conjure the dystopian near future of 2045. There, much of humanity retreats into OASIS, a virtual-reality software program, to escape their bleak surroundings. Wade (Tye Sheridan) discovers clues to a hidden game in the program that will deliver a life-changing reward to the winner. Olivia Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn, T.J. Miller, Simon Pegg and Mark Rylance star.

9 p.m. on HMM Movie: Memories of Christmas

San Francisco businesswoman Noelle Carson (Christina Milian) returns to her small Michigan hometown to pack up her childhood home for sale and attend a holiday charity gala, which was founded by her late mom, a true Christmas junkie. Romantic sparks fly with local handyman Dave Beckman (Mark Taylor), at least until he learns a beloved local lodge is being sold to developers represented by Noelle’s company. Noelle quickly moves to see what she can do to save the day.

9:30 p.m. on WTOC-11 Frosty Returns

This animated special offers John Goodman as the voice of Frosty the Snowman. Frosty arrives in the town of Beansborough following the first snowstorm. But his visit may have to be cut short when a new invention, a snow-removal spray called Summer Wheeze, is introduced.
