A female, senior citizen with little computer experience came to Bluffton Self Help’s Education and Resource center interested in learning how to use computers. She knows how much technology plays a role in our lives and wanted to be able to reach her out-of- state family. Bluffton Self Help worked to help her gain the desired computer skills to stay in touch with her family.

At Bluffton Self Help we strive to bring the community closer together by bringing out the strength and confidence of each of our neighbors.

Our staff taught her computer basics such as using the keyboard, mouse, and browsing the internet. Shortly after a few visits, her skills had progressed to the point where she created an email to connect with family who she had not talked to in years. Her family was so impressed with her new skill set that they decided to purchase a computer for her to continue learning.
