Aldridge’s 56 helps Spurs outlast Thunder in 2OT
The Spurs started hotter than ever from 3-point range at home Thursday night.
When that wasn’t enough to put away the Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio got the extra push it needed from its big man in the middle.
LaMarcus Aldridge scored a career-high 56 points and the Spurs overcame Russell Westbrook’s triple-double to outlast the Oklahoma City Thunder 154-147 in double-overtime.
“He carried us,” Spurs point guard Derrick White said. “It was fun to watch.” 76ers: Center Joel Embiid sat out the 76ers’ game Friday night against Atlanta because of a sore left ankle. Embiid hurt his ankle in a loss to Washington on Wednesday night. Embiid was one of the final players to leave the court during warmups and shot long jumpers wearing “Trust the Process” sneakers. Grizzlies: The team announced that guard/forward Dillon Brooks is expected to miss the remainder of the season due to a ruptured ligament in his right big toe. Brooks underwent surgery Friday. The Grizzlies said Brooks should have a full recovery in time for the 201920 training camp.
