Congress functions as deficit commission

The Kansas City Star (Sunday) - - LETTERS - Charles R. Martin

The federal deficit has more than tripled in the last two years. President Barack Obama has created a “commission” to make recommendations on how to reduce the deficit.

One wonders if he recognizes that the deficit has ballooned dramatically since the Democrats gained control of both the House and Senate and even more dramatically since he assumed office.

And by the way, has it occurred to the president and to everyone else that a budget commission already exists? It’s called Congress.
