A re­ward for in­for­ma­tion in a Kansas City, Kan., mur­der has in­creased to $2,000, of­fi­cials an­nounced Tues­day.

The $1,000 in­crease comes in the case of LeDion D. Brown, who was killed Oct. 30, 2009.

He was found shot dead in­side a car in the 1300 block of North Fourth Street.

Kansas district and ap­peals courts will be closed on four up­com­ing Fri­days be­cause of a bud­get short­fall, of­fi­cials an­nounced Tues­day.

Em­ploy­ees will be on in­vol­un­tary un­paid leave April 9, 16, 23, and May 7, of­fi­cials said.

Dur­ing the clos­ings, judges will deal only with crit­i­cal func­tions such as find­ing prob­a­ble cause for ar­rests.
