League of Women Voters sponsors local candidates forums
CENTREVILLE — During October, the League of Women Voters of Queen Anne’s County will hold candidate forums for the Queen Anne’s County Board of Education and County Commissioners and a meet and greet for the Judge of the Orphans’ Court candidates to provide voters the opportunity to see, hear and question candidates. These events are free and open to the public.
On Wednesday, Oct. 10, the League of Women Voters of Queen Anne’s County will hold a meet and greet for the Queen Anne’s County Judge of Orphans’ Court candidates and a forum for the At-Large candidates for Board of Education at Queen Anne’s County Planning and Zoning, 110 Vincit St., Suite 104, Centreville. Meet and speak with candidates beginning at 6 p.m. The following candidates plan to attend: Kimberly Cascia (R), Thomas Walsh (R), Fred McNeil (D) and Willie Mae Pauls (D). The Board of Education forum will begin at 7 p.m., featuring Tammy Harper and Mary Walker.
On Monday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m., the LWVQAC will hold a forum for County Commission candidates at the Queen Anne’s County Planning and Zoning, 110 Vincit St., Suite 104, Centreville.
Participating will be the two candidates for the AtLarge seat, Jim Moran (R), and Elaine Harrison (D); the two candidates for District One, Jack Wilson (R) and Annette DiMaggio (D); the two candidates for District 2, Steve Wilson (R) and Ben Tilghman (D); the two candidates for District 3, Phil Dumenil (R) and Jim Coulter (D); and the two candidates for District 4, Chris Corchiarino (R) and Deborah Krueger (D).
The participating candidates will introduce themselves, answer audience questions and have a brief time for an individual wrapup.
