Kent Nar­rows lighted boat pa­rade to close sea­son

KENT IS­LAND — To cel­e­brate the end of the boat­ing sea­son, the Kent Nar­rows De­vel­op­ment Foun­da­tion and the Queen Anne’s County Cham­ber of Com­merce are pre­sent­ing a lighted boat pa­rade on Oct. 27 The pa­rade is be­ing held with the sup­port of Queen Anne’s County and the busi­nesses in and around the Kent Nar­rows wa­ter­front.

Cap­tains and their re­spec­tive crews are in­vited to join the fun by dec­o­rat­ing and light­ing their boats. Har­ris Crab House will be home to the judg­ing stand and also will host the awards cer­e­mony fol­low­ing the pa­rade. Cash prizes to­tal­ing $850 will be given in to the best boat in the fol­low­ing cat­e­gories: Best Use of Color, Best Crew, Best Theme, and Best Over­all.

Boats are sched­uled to as­sem­ble in the Wells Cove area of the Kent Nar­rows at 6 p.m. on Oct. 27. The pa­rade will be­gin at 6:30 p.m. and be vis­i­ble from the wa­ter­front area be­tween Wells Cove to Mears Point. Spec­ta­tors are en­cour­aged to view the event from their fa­vorite wa­ter­front venue.
