Kent Narrows lighted boat parade to close season
KENT ISLAND — To celebrate the end of the boating season, the Kent Narrows Development Foundation and the Queen Anne’s County Chamber of Commerce are presenting a lighted boat parade on Oct. 27 The parade is being held with the support of Queen Anne’s County and the businesses in and around the Kent Narrows waterfront.
Captains and their respective crews are invited to join the fun by decorating and lighting their boats. Harris Crab House will be home to the judging stand and also will host the awards ceremony following the parade. Cash prizes totaling $850 will be given in to the best boat in the following categories: Best Use of Color, Best Crew, Best Theme, and Best Overall.
Boats are scheduled to assemble in the Wells Cove area of the Kent Narrows at 6 p.m. on Oct. 27. The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. and be visible from the waterfront area between Wells Cove to Mears Point. Spectators are encouraged to view the event from their favorite waterfront venue.
