got Oakdale coming to town, and honestly, I think they’re the best (Class) 2A team in the state.

“And it doesn’t get any easier for us after that, really,” Ferragamo added. “We’ve got Easton after that, and they’ve got a strong passing game. And then it’s North Caroline; they’re 6-0 right now. And we finish the season with Queen Anne’s. There’s just no break for us from here on out.”

A 38-yard interception return by Andre Matthews made it 21-3 with just over seven minutes left.

Kent Island couldn’t answer, watching Wi-Hi salt away the win with a 17-yard Evans touchdown run with 3:11 remaining. The point-after try was unsuccessful.

At 4-2 and having already matched last year’s win total with four games to go, Hanson wouldn’t talk much about the chances of making the playoffs.

“This was a good win, gets us a lot of points,” Hanson said. “But there’s still several teams above us. You’ve got Harford Tech, North Caroline, Parkside, and we’ve got Elkton who’s up there too. The 2A East, that we’re in with Kent Island and them, is gonna be tough, even if you go 8-2.”
