Grasonville VFW luncheons continue through March
GRASONVILLE — This coming Saturday, Jan. 12, will mark the first of the three remaining ham, beef and oyster luncheons held at VFW Post 7464 in Grasonville. The well-known Saturday luncheons have been hosted at the VFW for more than 20 years. However, they are now held only once a month. The remaining dates for the luncheons will be Feb. 9 and March 9.
All the luncheons begin at 11:30 a.m. and run through 2 p.m. The prices remain the same as they have been for the past several years: $9 for your choice of either pit beef, pit ham, pit turkey, or fried oyster sandwiches, all served in huge thinly sliced portions on your choice of either white or rye breads or a Kaiser roll. The price includes all the trimmings of barbecue beans, coleslaw, potato chips and dill pickles.
Hand-breaded fried oysters, oyster stew (renowned as possibly the best anywhere) and fresh shucked oysters on the half-shell are also available, also for $9 each, including the trimmings. Huge portions of Boardwalk fries are available for $3. Soft drinks or adult beverages can be purchased at the bar.
Proceeds go toward the costs of running the local VFW. For information, call the VFW at 410-827-8194.
