K. Ed­ward Rohrbach

K. Ed­ward Rohrbach, 92, of Col­lege Hill, Eas­ton, passed away Wed­nes­day, March 21, 2018 in the Lutheran Home at Topton.

Born Oc­to­ber 1, 1925, in Kutztown, PA, he was a son of Har­vey E. and Ida (Wan­ner) Rohrbach.

He was pre­ceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Vir­ginia E. “Gin­nie” (Dyke­man) Rohrbach, who died De­cem­ber 9, 1999.

Ed­die re­tired from the for­mer A& P Mar­ket where he worked for forty years. Af­ter re­tire­ment he went back to work at Lafayette Col­lege. Years ago he had been the owner of the for­mer Ed­die’s Mar­ket, Kutztown; and ran the clam stand at the Kutztown Folk Fes­ti­val and Kutztown Fair.

He grad­u­ated from Kutztown High School Class of 1944.

Ed­die loved to main­tain his home, make ice cream and spend time at the Jer­sey shore on Long Beach Is­land. He en­joyed de­liv­er­ing Meals on Wheels for twenty years. Ed­die was a very lov­ing grandpa.

He was a faith­ful mem­ber of Good Shep­herd Lutheran Church, Wil­son Bor­ough, where he was a mem­ber of the choir and started their video tape min­istry show­ing at Eas­ton Hospital and area nurs­ing homes, for which he re­ceived lo­cal and state awards. Ed was a for­mer mem­ber of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Kutztown, where he had pre­vi­ously served as trea­surer and on church coun­cil.

Sur­viv­ing are a son, Arthur M. Tay­lor and his wife Ann-Louise, of Lower Nazareth Town­ship; two grand­chil­dren, Bron­wen McCrea and her hus­band Scott, of Churchville, PA and Michael Tay­lor, of Eas­ton; two great­grand­chil­dren, Dy­lan and Syd­ney McCrea; a niece, Su­san Di­et­rich Teti; a nephew, Dou­glas Di­et­rich; a great-niece, Lau­ryn Teti; as well as other nieces and neph­ews. In ad­di­tion to his wife, he was pre­de­ceased by two broth­ers, Charles and Paul Rohrbach; a sis­ter, Nita Di­et­rich and his grand­cat, New­ton.

Ser­vices will be held at 11am Tues­day, March 27th in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northamp­ton Street, Eas­ton. Call Tues­day 10-11am in the funeral home. En­tomb­ment will be in Cedar Hill Me­mo­rial Park. Of­fer on­line con­do­lences at www. strunkf h.com.
