Palm Palace Express debuts at Partridge Creek
Mall at Partridge Creek to host restaurant
When Ahmad Hodroj decided to create a spinoff of his Palm Palace restaurant in Clinton Township, he didn’t have far to look for the perfect location.
The Lebanese immigrant developed a carryout version of the restaurant’s popular Mediterranean menu for the Mall at Partridge Creek on Hall Road, just couple of miles down the street in a concept he calls “fast casual.”
“It ’s a one- of- a- kind c oncept,” Hodroj said Wednesday at a ribboncutting ceremony. “We are offering something delicious that is quick, fresh and healthy. We’re like a Subway, only Mediterranean.”
The 1,200- square-foot Palm Palace Express is located in a spot formerly occupied by Taco Bell, across f rom California Pizza Kitchen. It includes dine-in and carryout service.
There’s a variet y of sandwiches, ranging from the chicken shwarma to a hommus and taboulee rollup, to salads, dinners, side dishes, baklava for dessert, and more. There’s even something called a f ries sandwich, made with French fries, homemade coleslaw and specialty sauce.
“This is ideal for the lunch crowd,” Hodroj said. “There’s no 20-minute wait, but we still make everything fresh within a couple of minutes, and everything is so delicious.”
Hodroj, who came to the United States from Lebanon at age 14, earned a degree in biology at University of Michigan, but ventured into the business world when he opened Palm Palace on Hall Road east of Hayes in 2008. He decided to launch an express version solely for Partridge Creek, but may expand to other communities in the future.
“We’re very excited to have this new restaurant that offers fast, fresh food at an affordable price,” said Partridge Creek mar- keting director Melissa Morang. “It’s unique to the area and a great option for our customers.”
Clinton Township Supervisor Robert Cannon agreed.
“I think they will do extremely well in this premier shopping center,” Cannon said.
