- — Macomb Daily staff

Macomb County voters have a new place to get information regarding absentee voting with the launch of the “Macomb County Absentee Voter Thermometer” for the November election.

The webpage, located at clerk.macombgov.org/ Clerk-Elections-thermometer, shows the number of absentee ballots that havebeen issued to date, percentage of ballots returned to date and the number of absentee ballots in recent elections.

“Macomb County voters have many options to cast their votes beside the traditional Election Day polling location voting. Voters still have time to request an absentee ballot and have it mailed to them. They can return the ballot by mail or drop it off at their local city or township office. They can even visit their city or township and request and vote an absentee ballot right at the counter during regular business hours,” Macomb County Clerk Fred Miller said in a news release.

The webpage also has a link to the Michigan Voter Information Center which allows voters to track their absentee ballots, view sample ballots, find a polling location request an absentee ballot and more.

Eligible residents can still register to vote by mail, online at michigan.gov/vote until Tuesday, Oct. 20. After Oct. 20, residents can still register to vote up to and including on Tuesday Nov. 4 but then it must be done in person with their city, village or township clerk.
