Where’s the road outrage?

-

Back when Livonia was at its infancy, 1959, then mayor Moelke declared every-other road in both directions will be 5 lanes (many also with right hand turn lanes) and when that was finished the rest would be completed. This was when the construction of Wonderland Shopping Center started and Livonia Mall was still on the drawing boards. I’m a visitor to Shelby Township and surrounding area and I’m shocked at the pathetic single lane roads and having the building of the monster Lakeside Mall and hundreds of mini malls/stores in any direction you travel without one thought to road congestion.

The tax base in Livonia is/was not even close at the time to Shelby and surrounding areas but the Livonia mayor got it done. What are the politicians doing with your money, where’s the outrage? Every time I drive into the area

I try to miss the rush hour time slots. About the only good that came out of the pandemic is reduced traffic and that helps a little. But I think it’s time for the taxpayers to visit the township supervisor’s office and demand change, you are way behind the times and definitely not getting your money’s worth by what I see in the growth/value of your community and subdivisions. If you go to a meeting don’t take excuses just look at what they did to one of the latest road renovations when the fire station went up at 25 Mile Road and Schoenherr: All lanes redone and new traffic poles/lights all installed for single lane roads with a new sub now going in, no forward thinking there.
