State’s first Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh opens
Restaurant features authentic dishes customized to the guest’s liking
Not everyone has a grandmother or mother-inlaw who can stir up a delicious batch of hummus and those who don’t will be happy to know Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh has opened up its first location in Michigan.
The new restaurant specializing in the flavorful dishes that can be customized to suit a variety of health, wellness and dietary needs, held its grand opening in Clinton Township a few weeks ago and has been busy ever since.
“We love providing our neighbors with fresh, healthy food at an affordable price,” said David Doak, who co-owns the restaurant along with Jackie Doak and their partners, Dennis and Lisa Bell. “Garbanzo will allow us to do that, while providing us with support needed to expand our presence within Clinton Township.”
Doak said it’s exciting and humbling to be a part of bringing the first Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh to Michigan.”
The team of Doak and Bell spent months searching for the perfect location and decided on Clinton Township because of its demographics and the need for a healthy Mediterranean options.
So far, they’ve been thrilled with the community’s response to their choice of locations.
“The taste of the food speaks for itself,” Doak said. “There’s a high percentage of our current customer base that since we’ve opened in mid-December are repeat customers and come back weekly, and some almost daily, since our menu is so customizable.”

Fresh and its menu is rooted in traditional meals that haven’t changed in a thousand years including authentic laffa wraps and Gyros served on pillowy pitas baked in-house throughout the day along with bowls, plates and salads featuring unique earth-grown flavors such as olive oil, paprika and hummus.
