Art Guild meeting
Washington Art Guild will meet Nov. 14 at Romeo Community Center, 361 Morton Street, Romeo. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for refreshments and socializing. Meeting begins promptly at 7 p.m. Gary Faszholz, a local art teacher and artist, will give a presentation on the history of art including some little-known facts about some of your favorite artists.
Euchre event
• American Legion Post 351, 46146 Cass Avenue, Utica, are hosting a euchre fundraiser Nov. 20. Doors open at 4 p.m.; games at 5 p.m. Cost is $20 and includes euchre, pizza and a beverage, pop, coffee or water. Food distribution event
• Hope for the Hungry Food Pantry through St. Peter Lutheran Church of Macomb will distribute food from 1-2 p.m. Nov. 15 at 24125 26 Mile Road, Ray Township. This will be a drivethru event and those getting food are asked to show their driver’s license or state ID card. You should park in a parking spot in the west parking lot and wait to be checked in. Historical Museum events
• Greater Washington Area Historical Society hosting a used book sale from 1-4 p.m. Nov. 27 at the museum located at 58230 Van Dyke. For more information, visit washhistsoc.org or call 586-786-5304.
• The Washington Historical Museum, 58230 Van Dyke, Washington Township, is open from 1-4 p.m. the second and fourth Sundays of the month. The Greater Washington Area Historical Society is always looking for new members and volunteers to help with tours, displays, projects and events. • Medicare beneficiaries who want to review their Medicare benefits during the open enrollment period from Oct. 15-Dec. 7 can get their coverage reviewed with help from Area Agency on Aging 1 B’s Medicare Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP) is offering in person and virtual appointments with certified Medicare counselors to get their needs evaluated for the coming year. Appointments are available by calling 800-803-7174. A phone number or a Zoom link will be sent before the session.
Octagon House event
The Octagon House will hold their Victorian Christmas celebration from noon-4 p.m. Nov. 19 and 20. This is the only time it will be open for the holiday season. Take a self guided tour with docents available on each floor to assist. Enjoy the many Christmas trees, wreaths and decorations while listening to live Christmas music. Christmas items, many handmade by volunteers will be available for purchase, along with items in the Gift Shop. There will also be a silent auction in the tea room. Widowed friends events
• Dancing every Tuesday at Polish Century Club, 33204 Maple Lane, Sterling Heights. Doors open at 6 p.m.; music from 7-10:30 p.m. Cost is $8 per person with a cash bar. A table will be reserved for Widowed Friends. Contact Victoria at 586-5667936.
