Movies: From the silver screen to your couch

The following list includes movies available at local theaters, and movies that are available to watch through online streaming and video on demand services including: Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, Hulu, Vudu, FandangoNow, Apple TV+, YouTube, Disney+, HBO Max and more.

• “She Said” (R): Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan star as New York Times journalists Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor, who together broke the story exposing sexual abuse allegations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, the story that helped launch the #Metoo movement. Directed by Maria Schrader. In theaters, Nov. 18.

• “The Menu” (R): A couple (Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult) travels to a coastal island to eat at an exclusive restaurant where the chef (Ralph Fiennes) has prepared a lavish menu, with some shocking surprises. In theaters, Nov. 18.

• “Spirited” (PG-13): A musical version of Charles Dickens’ story. Each Christmas Eve, the Ghost of Christmas Present (Will Ferrell) selects one dark soul to be reformed by a visit from three spirits. But this season, he picked the wrong Scrooge and Clint Briggs (Ryan Reynolds) turns the tables on his ghostly host. Available in select theaters and streaming on Apple TV+,

• “Black Panther- Wakanda Forever” (PG-13): Marvel Studios’ new superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Black Panther with the Wakandans fighting to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. Starring Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke and Danai Gurira.

• “Tad, the Lost Explorer and the Emerald Tablet” (PG): New film in the Tad series, where

Tad accidentally unleashes a curse that endangers the lives of his friends, and then sets out to save them. Animated, with voices of Luis Posada, Alexandra Jiménez, Michelle Jenner and José Corbacho.

• “Armageddon Time” (R): A coming-of-age story about the strength of family and the generational pursuit of the American Dream. Starring Anthony Hopkins, Jeremy Strong, Anne Hathaway and Michael Banks Repeta.

• “The Banshees of Inisherin” (R): Set on a remote island off the coast of Ireland, two lifelong friends find themselves at an impasse when one abruptly ends their relationship. Starring Colin Farrell, Barry Keoghan, Kerry Condon and Brendan Gleeson.

• “One Piece Film-Red” (PG13): Anime film about Uta, a beloved singer who is renowned for concealing her own identity when performing.

• “Prey for the Devil” (PG): Horror film about the Roman Catholic Church combatting a global rise in demonic possessions by reopening schools to train priests to perform exorcisms. Although nuns are forbidden to perform this ritual, a professor trains Sister Ann (Jacqueline Byers) who finds herself in a battle for the soul of a young girl who’s possessed by the same demon that tormented her own mother years earlier.

• “Till” (PG-13): The true story of Mamie Till-Mobley, an American educator and activist who pursued justice after the lynching of her 14-year-old son, Emmett Till, in 1955. Starring Danielle Deadwyler, Jalyn Hall, Frankie Faison, Haley Bennett and Whoopi Goldberg.

• “Tár“(R): Set in the international world of classical music, the film centers on Lydia Tár, widely considered one of the greatest living composer/conductors and first-ever female chief conductor of a major German orchestra. Starring Cate Blanchett, Nina Hoss and Noémie Merlant.

• “Ticket to Paradise” (PG-13): George Clooney and Julia Roberts star as a divorced couple who team up and travel to Bali to stop their lovestruck daughter from making the same mistake they made 25years ago.

• “Black Adam” (PG-13): In ancient Kahndaq, Teth Adam was bestowed with the powers of the gods, and then imprisoned, becoming Black Adam. Nearly 5,000years have passed, and he is now free, ready to unleash his form of justice on the modern world. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Sarah Shahi, Noah Centineo and Pierce Brosnan.

• “Halloween Ends” (R): After 45years of the Halloween horror franchise, Laurie Strode (Jamie

Lee Curtis) faces off against Michael Myers in a final confrontation in which only one of them will survive. Also starring Andi Matichak, James Jude Courtney, Will Patton, Rohan Campbell and Kyle Richards. Also streaming on Peacock.

• “Lyle Lyle Crocodile” (PG): When a family moves to New York City, their young son Josh struggles to adapt to his new school and friends. But that changes when he discovers Lyle, a singing crocodile (voice of Shawn Mendes) and the two become friends. Starring Javier Bardem, Constance

Wu, Winslow Fegley.

• “Terrifier 2“(R): Sequel slasher film about Art the Clown who returns to Miles County to terrorize a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night. Starring David Howard Thornton, Samantha Scaffidi, Lauren LaVera and Griffin Santopietro.

• “Amsterdam“(R): A crime epic about three close friends who find themselves at the center of one of the most shocking secret plots in American history. Starring Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Alessandro Nivola, Chris Rock, Taylor Swift, with Rami Malek and Robert De Niro.

• “Smile” (R): After witnessing a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient, Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) starts experiencing frightening occurrences. Also starring Jessie T. Usher and Kyle Gallner with Rob Morgan.

• “The Woman King” (PG-13):

A historical drama about the Agojie, the all-female warrior unit who protected the West African kingdom of Dahomey in the 1800s. Starring Viola Davis, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Lashana Lynch and John Boyega.

• “Disenchanted” (PG): New live-action musical comedy, sequel to Disney’s “Enchanted” featuring the original cast from the heart-warming story of the maiden from the fairy tale world of Andalasia who finally found her Prince Charming in the kingdom of New York City. Starring Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey and Maya Rudolph. Available on Disney+,

Nov. 18.

• “Slumberland” (PG): live-action adaptation of the comic strip series Little Nemo in Slumberland. The film is about a dreamworld where Nemo (Marlow Barkley) and her eccentric companion Flip (Jason Momoa) embark on the adventure of a lifetime. Also starring Kyle Chandler and Chris O’Dowd. Available on Netflix, Nov. 18.

• “Don’t Worry Darling” (R): Psychological thriller about an experimental company town housing the men who work for the top-secret Victory Project and their families. Every resident’s needs are met by the company, but cracks in their idyllic life begin to appear, exposing something sinister beneath the surface. Starring Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Olivia Wilde, Gemma Chan, KiKi Layne and Chris Pine.

• “Selena Gomez: My Mind &

Me” (R): Documentary about pop star Selena Gomez who opens up about her struggle with mental illness. Directed by Alek Keshishian. Available on Apple TV+.

• “Causeway” (R): A soldier who experienced a traumatic brain injury during her tour in Afghanistan struggles to adjust to her life after returning home to New Orleans. Starring Jennifer Lawrence and Brian Tyree Henry. Available on Apple TV+.

• “Enola Holmes 2” (PG-13): Second film in the series based on “The Enola Holmes Mysteries” novels, where Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown) follows in the footsteps of her famous brother, Sherlock (Henry Cavill). Available on Netflix.

• “The Minute You Wake Up Dead” (R): After a shady smalltown stockbroker begins dating a shy waitress, a shocking murder happens. Starring Cole Hauser, Jaimie Alexander and Morgan Freeman. Available streaming.

• “All Quiet on the Western Front” (R): A film about a young German soldier and his comrades on the Western Front of World

War I as they experience how the initial euphoria of war turns into desperation and fear as they fight for their lives, and each other. Based on the bestseller of the same name. Starring Daniel Brühl, Albrecht Schuch and Sebastian Hülk. Available on Netflix.

• “The Good Nurse” (R): Amy, a nurse and single mother is struggling with a life-threatening heart condition and the demanding night shifts at the ICU. When Charlie, a thoughtful and empathetic fellow nurse, starts at her unit, the two become friends. But then a series of mysterious patient deaths sets off an investigation that points to Charlie. Starring Jessica Chastain, Eddie Redmayne and Nnamdi Asomugha. Available on Netflix.

• “Call Jane” (R): A housewife is overjoyed with the news of her pregnancy — until she learns it poses a threat to her own life.

She meets an underground group of women who risk everything to provide people like her with a choice. Starring Elizabeth Banks, Sigourney Weaver, Kate Mara and Cory Michael Smith.

• “Wendell & Wild” (PG-13): Animated tale about scheming demon brothers Wendell who enlist the aid of a tough teen to summon them to the Land of the Living. Starring voices of Jordan Peele, Keegan-Michael Key, Lyric Ross, Tamara Smart and Angela Bassett. Available on Netflix.

• “Raymond & Ray”: When half brothers Raymond and Ray reunite after their estranged father dies, they discover that his final wish was for them to dig his grave. Starring Ethan Hawke, Ewan McGregor and Maribel Verdú. Available on Apple TV+.

• “The Curse of Bridge Hollow”: A father and his teenage daughter team up to save their town after an ancient spirit causes Halloween decorations to come to life and wreak havoc. Starring Marlon Wayans, Priah Ferguson and Kelly Rowland. Available on Netflix.

• “Top Gun-Maverick” (PG-13): After more than 30years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, (Tom Cruise), is tasked with training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a dangerous mission. Maverick must confront the ghosts of his past and his deepest fears. He encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), the son of Maverick’s late friend, Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose” from the original “Top Gun” movie. Also starring Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly and Jon Hamm.

• “DC League of Super-Pets” (PG): Warner Bros. animated film about Krypto the Super-Dog and best friend Superman who share the same superpowers and fight crime in Metropolis together.

When Superman and the rest of the Justice League are kidnapped, Krypto gathers a shelter pack to help rescue the superheroes. Starring the voices of Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Keanu Reeves and Kate McKinnon.

• “The Return of Tanya Tuckerfeaturing Brandi Carlile” (R): Documentary about trailblazing country music legend Tanya Tucker and the collaboration between her and rising Americana music star Brandi Carlile.

• “Barbarian” (R): A young woman travels to Detroit for a job interview where she has booked a rental home. She arrives late at night and discovers that the house is double-booked, and a strange man is already staying there. Starring Georgina Campbell, Bill Skarsgård, Justin Long, Matthew Patrick Davis.

• “Confess, Fletch” (R): Comedy with Jon Hamm starring as the charming and troublesome Fletch. While searching for a stolen art collection, he becomes the prime suspect in a murder. To prove his innocence, he must sift through a long list of suspects. Also starring Annie Mumolo,

• “My Policeman” (R): Tom, a policeman in 1950s Britain, falls in love with a schoolteacher and then begins a passionate same-sex affair with a museum curator, in spite of homosexuality being illegal. Starring Harry Styles, David Dawson, Emma Corrin and Linus Roache.

• “Bros” (R): Romantic comedy about two gay men struggling with relationship issues. Starring Billy Eichner, Luke Macfarlane and Ts Madison.

• “Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris” (PG): Set in 1950s London, a widowed housekeeper follows her dream of owning a couture Christian Dior gown and travels to Paris. Starring Lesley Manville, Isabelle Huppert, Jason Isaacs, Anna Chancellor and Lambert Wilson.

• “Where the Crawdads Sing” (PG-13): Abandoned by her parents, Kya raised herself in the dangerous marshlands of North Carolina. For years, rumors of the marsh girl haunted Barkley Cove, isolating her from the community. Based on the book by Delia Owens. Starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Taylor John Smith, Harris Dickinson and David Strathairn.

• “Minions-The Rise of Gru” (PG): Animated adventure from the “Minions” franchise, set in the 1970s. Gru (Steve Carell), a fanboy of a supervillain supergroup known as the Vicious 6, hatches a plan to become evil enough to join them. Also starring Taraji P. Henson, Michelle Yeoh, RZA, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Lucy Lawless, with Julie Andrews and Alan Arkin.

• “The Greatest Beer Run Ever” (R): Based on a true story, Chickie (Zac Efron) decides to deliver American beer to support his friends fighting in Vietnam. His journey quickly changes Chickie’s life. Also starring Russell Crowe and Bill Murray. Available on Apple TV+.

• “The Invitation” (PG-13): After the death of her mother, Evie (Nathalie Emmanuel) takes a DNA test and discovers a long-lost cousin she never knew she had. Invited by her newfound family to a lavish wedding in the English countryside, Evie is at first seduced by the sexy aristocratic host, yet soon uncovers twisted secrets about her family history. • “Hocus Pocus 2” (PG):
