Voted America’s Number One Holiday Parade by the 2018and 2019USA Today 10Best Readers Choice Award, this year’s theme for Thursday’s parade will be “Our Great City! Detroit.”
The show is traditionally featured on WDIV-TV (Channel 4) along with a one-hour syndicated national broadcast, reaching more than 185television markets across the country. Paul W. Smith of WJR-AM (760) and Audacy WOMC-FM (104.3) also broadcast parade shows.
Live coverage kicks off at 6 a.m. with pre-parade coverage, followed by a parade pre-show beginning at 9 a.m. Detroit’s local coverage of the parade runs from 10a.m. to noon. Listeners can also catch WJR’s Paul W. Smith’s pre-parade broadcast from 6a.m. — 9:30 a.m. and WOMC’s live coverage overlooking the parade route from 10 a.m.- noon overlooking the parade route.
This year’s edition of the parade will also include three marching bands from Macomb County including the Big Reds from Chippewa Valley High School, Cousino Patriots from Cousino High School in Warren and Dakota High School Marching Band from Macomb.
