Eastpointe police said they are seeking Savion Jackson, 20, as a person of interest in a shooting that happened Tuesday afternoon in the 23000 block of David Avenue near Nine Mile Road.

According to police, officers responded to a report of two females physically fighting in the front yard of a home and a male firing at the females and another man who was standing near the lawn where the fight was happening. The incident occurred at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 22

Eastpointe police were assisted by officers from St. Clair Shores.

Police say the fight stopped when the shots were fired and one female fled with the shooter while the other man and woman sought shelter in their residence across the street from where the fight had taken place. Neither party was injured during the incident.

Initially, police thought the shooter and the female were hiding in their home on David Avenue and refusing to come out.

Eastpointe police say they have previously made several runs to the address where the fight took place.

The Macomb County Sheriff’s SWAT and Negotiation Team safely cleared the home where the suspect was thought to be hiding, but no one was inside the home. A handgun that may have been used during the incident was recovered along with other related evidence.

Anyone having any information as to the whereabouts of Jackson or about this case is asked to call the Eastpointe Police Department at 586-445-5100.
