The Warren Police Department welcomed 10 new officers to the force and promoted three officers during a special ceremony Nov. 18.

Officers Michael Kohlruss, Anthony Rudin, and Nicholas Lienemannn were promoted to the rank of Corporal. Commissioner William Dwyer also recognized newlyhired police officers Aidan Hudgens, Joseph Weaver, Michael Quaranta, Ryan Smith, Clinton Elam, Evan Dinkel, Andrew Piasecki, Elmondo Smith, Owen Pash, and Zachary Harmon, along with police officer candidate Justin Lienemannn.

The new officers have an average of 4.5 years of police experience with other area departments including Detroit, Roseville, Center Line, Taylor and Berkley.

“While other police departments have struggled to recruit officers and fill vacant positions, the Warren police department has increased staffing across the ranks,” said Dwyer. “Without a doubt, employees are the most valuable asset to our department.”

Each officer spoke during the ceremony with many citing the support Warren police gets from residents,Mayor James Fouts and the city council and the leadership of Dwyer as the reasons they wanted to leave their previous jobs to join the department.

“This is a wonderful place to work with endless opportunities to make a difference in the community,” said Dwyer.
