Cars filled the parking lot as people filled Freddy’s Bar & Grill in Clinton Township Sunday for the closing day of the two-day Rock 4 Tots toy drive to benefit the Clinton Township Goodfellows Club.

R4T personnel partnered up with rock station WRIFFM (101.1) to feature minisets from 50 bands playing from Saturday afternoon to late Sunday night. Audience members were urged to bring a new unwrapped toy or $5 for admission.

“By last night, we are way ahead of where we were for last year’s total,” said “Loco” Joe Evangelista, a R4T organizer from St. Clair Shores.

The volunteer-driven event has raised thousands of dollars and lots of toys in years past for the Goodfellows to ensure every local child has a toy for Christmas.
