Magistrate Mark Makoski set the cash/surety bond at $50,000 for each count. Fleming must wear a tether if he is released from the Macomb County Jail.
A pretrial is scheduled for
March 15, 1 p.m. in
38th District Court.
Fleming was arrested by Warren police last week after he was seen entering a backyard and peering into windows of an Oak Park home.
According to Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer, his department recently received two reports of a man with a ladder looking into windows of homes in the areas of Toepfer Road.
When detectives contacted surrounding cities, Eastpointe police said they had responded to calls regarding similar incidents. The two departments worked together to identify the suspect and Warren’s special operations unit was able to apprehend Fleming in Oak Park.
“It is despicable that someone would prey on young children. This type of crime can quickly escalate to more serious crimes against young females,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido. “I would like to thank Eastpointe and Warren police departments for working together to get the accused off the streets.”
Fleming is expected to be charged in Oak Park and Warren as well.
