Whether it be a golf outing or maybe a fashion show and gala dinner, every local nonprofit has their own way of raising money for their cause. For the Salvation Army of Southeast Michigan Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) it’s their spring sales event March 11.

“As the weather warms up, it is the perfect time to refresh your wardrobe,” said Envoy Jacqulynn Idzior, administrator for The Salvation Army. “From women’s dresses, to men’s shorts and everything in between, The Salvation Army thrift stores have everything you need to prepare for the spring season.”

All men’s, women’s and children’s clothing will be marked 50% at all 29 southeast Michigan Salvation Army thrift stores.

“Not only is this sale a great way to save, but all proceeds directly support those looking to rebuild their lives at the Adult Rehabilitation Center in Detroit,” added Idzior.

The Salvation Army thrift stores fully fund the ARC, which provides a number of programs and services to people in need across Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties. This includes substance-abuse rehabilitation, nutritious meals, leisure activities, individual counseling and spiritual direction, along with resources to develop life skills.

Full recovery from substance abuse goes beyond traditional detox treatment. At ARC individuals are provided with individualized emotional, social and spiritual assistance to maintain a strong and healthy path on their journey.

This is achieved through a 180 day program that centers on a 12-step, abstinence-based approach designed to help participants learn how to stay clean, embrace their faith to find motivation for change and to reaffirm their self-worth during the recovery process.

The Salvation Army thrift stores offer discounted, gently-used merchandise in a variety of departments, including clothing, accessories, housewares, linens, furniture and more.

Most Salvation Army Thrift Stores are open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
