The International Academy of Macomb will present “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” live on stage at 7 p.m. March 24-25 at the Chippewa Valley High School Auditorium in Clinton Township.

“IAM’s production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a captivating and nostalgic theatrical performance suitable for all ages,” said Jaskaran Randhawa, a senior at IAM and the production crew leader.

Who will find the golden tickets hidden in the candy bars?

Five lucky children — including Charlie, Veruca, Augustus, Violet and Mike — find the tickets. Then group along with their parents and everyone in the audience are given a oncein-a-lifetime tour of Willy Wonka’s famous chocolate factory.

“We invite our community to join us in immersing ourselves in this tale along with our diverse cast directed by Annmarie Eovaldi and our two student directors Emily Auchter and Kyan Camarillo,” Randhawa said.

Working alongside the cast are four dedicated crews including set build and design led by Milana Robbins, production led by Randhawa, costuming led by Teagan Mox and Kiki Stefa, and backstage led by Bree Miller.

“Our set is entirely student-designed and built, which has allowed our talented crew members to express their creative freedom in bringing this production to life,” Randhawa said. “With a candy meadow setting the scene, following into a rich chocolate river, this production will include the wondrous elements we know and love in the story.”

Tickets for the show are $10 and may be purchased online at bit.ly/ iamacomb (case sensitive) or at the door. T-shirts, roses and refreshments also will be available for purchase.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m. “I believe that our guests are going to enjoy the intricacies of the set and costumes, as well as the talent of our cast,” Randhawa added.

Chippewa Valley High School Auditorium is at 18300 19 Mile Rd., Clinton Township.
