A 39-year-old Oakland County man faces a possible life sentence in prison after being found guilty this week of sexually abusing the daughter of his girlfriend over a five-year period, according to the Macomb

County Prosecutor’s Office.

Charles Wayne Francisco of Auburn Hills was convicted on eight charges in the criminal sexual conduct case Tuesday in Macomb County Circuit Court.

Prosecutors said it took a jury just 40 minutes to render their verdict after a three-day trial.

“This type of behavior has absolutely no place in a civilized society and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent in Macomb County,” Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said in a statement.

Francisco was arrested by the Warren Police Department for sexually and physically assaulted by Francisco from the time she was six years old until she was 11.

She is the daughter of his girlfriend, authorities said.

After Francisco was out on bond after being charged, he cut off his GPS tether and absconded for three and a half months before he again was taken into custody.

He was found guilty of three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim under 13, a life felony and second-degree CSC with a victim under 13, a 15-year felony.

He was also convicted of absconding, tampering with an electronic monitoring device, aggravated indecent exposure, and domestic violence.

Prosecutors said Francisco was convicted in 2004 of attempted third-degree criminal sexual conduct. He is a habitual fourth offender and now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years in the Michigan of Corrections, and a mandatory lifetime tether.

Judge Julie Gatti will sentence Francisco at 9 a.m. on April 26.
