Is the end near for MAGArocker Ted Nugent?

Maybe, if his news release on Monday announcing a show coming up this summer at Michigan Lottery Amphiteatre at Freedom Hill in Sterling Heights is to be believed. It’s the second straight year he will take the stage at the venue.

In the release announcing the Adios Mofo tour, the self-proclaimed Motor City Madman seems to take a reflective tone.

“My amazing American Dream sure as hell ain’t over, and no way can I even see it from here,” he said in a statement.

“However, my fiery vaportrail of flamethrowing all American R&B and rock ‘n roll has been so much damn fun I can hardly believe it. I will write The Book, but for now, it’s Adios Mofo ‘23! Thank you thank you thank you all!”

Nugent, 74, the husband of Macomb County fitness instructor Shemane Nugent, got his start with the Amboy Dukes in the 1960s.

He went on to launch a solo career that spawned guitar-driven hits such as “Cat Scratch Fever,” Stranglehold” and “Great White Buffalo.”

“Performing my killer songs with this killer band for these killer music loving audiences every night is an indescribable joyous musical celebration beyond words,” he said.

More recently, Nugent has become known for his conservative political views concerning the Second Amendment and gun rights. During the last two presidential election cycles, he campaigned for former President Donald Trump.

Nugent performs at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug.
