A Roseville woman was sentenced to a total of six to 17 years in prison after entering pleas to manslaughter and felony firearm possession in the death of a Trenton woman in Detroit.

Danique Golder, 28, received the sentence Friday from Judge William Giovan of Wayne County Circuit Court in Detroit for the death of Takeisha Williams in April 2022 during a dispute at a residence.

Golder was initially charged with second-degree murder, punishable by up to life in prison, and discharging a firearm into a building causing death, both of which were dismissed along with one of two counts of felony firearm possession.

In exchange, she pleaded no contest last July to manslaughter, punishable by up to 15 years in prison, and one count of felony firearm possession, a mandatory two-year term consecutive to the manslaughter term.

She received four to 15 years for manslaughter on top of the two years for the gun charge.

The incident occurred about 11:30 a.m. April 16, 2022 when an argument escalated on Vaughan Street in the area of West Grand Boulevard and Fenkell avenues, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. Golder fired a handgun into a residence’s doorway, striking Williams in the head; she was pronounced dead at a hospital. Golder was arrested five days later.

She was released after posting bond but returned to the Wayne County Jail for a period of time, according to jail and court records.

Golder was ordered to pay $16,600 in restitution and received six months of credit against her sentenced for time served.
