On day two of testimony in the trial of Jennifer Crumbley — Oxford school shooter Ethan Crumbley’s mother — a former data/computer crimes expert detailed the killer’s path as he made his way through the school hallways armed with a handgun, ultimately murdering four students and shooting seven others.

Taking the stand as the first — and only — witness Friday in Oakland County Circuit Court, Edward Wagrowski gave a chilling account of Ethan Crumbley’s shooting spree, which began just after he emerged from a school bathroom, “looking excited.”

“He had a proud chest, almost like his shoulders were back,” Wagrowski said.

Wagrowski, who worked for the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office at the time of the shooting, testified that he compiled videos of the school’s 90-plus surveillance cameras as part of the investigation.

“(The footage) is burned in my brain,” he said.

In testifying about the video, Wagrowski presented his version of the timeline:

• Ethan Crumbley’s first victim shooting victim is hit by gunfire just outside the bathroom, and her boyfriend standing next to her puts his hand up and is shot next.

• The shooter turns the

gun on a group of four girls, killing one.

• Students are running through hallway, Ethan Crumbley starts shooting “with no regard for anything.”

• A female student curls up in a fetal position and Ethan Crumbley murders her.

• Most students are now out of the hallway, some locked in classrooms. One girl is seen trying to get into a locked classroom. Another student grabs her and they run as the shooter heads toward them.

• The shooter continues down the hallway and “might have reloaded by then.” He stops in the school courtyard where a male student enters. Ethan Crumbley levels the gun “as if at a gun range” and fires one round at the student who instantly falls to the ground where he’s shot a second time. He’s the third murder victim. Ethan Crumbley walks by the mortally wounded student with no acknowledgement.

• Ethan Crumbley fires into a classroom, then continues shooting as he walks down the hallway.

• The shooter fires a few

rounds through a classroom window, purportedly because “he must have seen people hiding.”

• He walks back in a reverse direction and passes a school administrator near his third murder victim without speaking to her.

• The shooter stops at a bathroom and kills his fourth victim.

Investigators say evidence shows 32 rounds were fired at the school that day.

Jennifer Crumbley is on trial for four counts of involuntary manslaughter for the four homicides her son committed. She’s accused of gross negligence in allowing him access to the firearm used in the shootings and for not properly addressing his mental health needs. This is the first time in the United States that the parent of a school shooter was put on trial in connection with their child’s crimes. Ethan Crumbley’s father, facing the same four charges, is scheduled for trial in March.

During Wagrowski’s testimony about her son’s shooting rampage, Jennifer Crumbley often kept her head down.
