Drone show to be part of this year’s Sterlingfest
Night Ranger to headline musical acts at summer event
A drone show will take flight on the first night of this year’s Sterlingfest Art & Music Festival to complement the entertainment headliners that include a touch of girl power, a country music star’s farewell, and classic rockers Night Ranger.
The main event acts were announced at Tuesday’s Sterling Heights City Council meeting. Sterlingfest 2024 is scheduled for Thursday-Saturday July 2527 in the Dodge Park area at Utica and Dodge Park roads.
New this year will be the addition of a drone show sponsored by Christian Financial Credit Union, which will replace the fireworks show. The illuminated drones will fly in a coordinated pattern over Dodge Park at dusk on the festival’s first night.
“Moving to a drone show both keeps the event fresh with something new and exciting to look forward to and also eliminates the loud explosive noise from fireworks,” said Melanie Davis, community relations director for the city.

This year’s festival will also include an art fair, carnival, kids tent, drinks,
food offerings from various restaurants, dancing, entertainment on four stages, and more.
The lineup features about several pop, rock, jazz and blues bands.
Also, numerous jugglers, magicians, clowns, and nature experts will be on hand for family-friendly entertainment.
The three-day festival is a major event for the city and is Macomb County’s largest free music event. It typically attracts 120,000 visitors to Dodge Park and
the Richard C. Notte City Center.
Hours for Sterlingfest 2024 are 10 a.m.-11 p.m. daily.
