Shorians design their future

Digital art and literacy are some of the biggest demands of the upcoming generation. Mallory Buzun-Miller can give students mastery of these topics with her Career Technical Education (CTE) courses.

Buzun-Miller has introduced several new classes to benefit the students. Among these newly introduced courses is her IT course which gives students experience with technology and a certification that can be used to apply for entry-level jobs.

Buzun-Miller explained, “MITA will help you become certified in many Microsoft Applications which is a great certification for everyday life and any career.”

Students don’t need to be going to college to take these classes. Many careers that don’t require degrees will require you to use different technological applications and this class will prepare you for that. You have content prepared by an experienced board of advisors and an experienced, friendly teacher to help you move through this process.

Buzun-Miller also has options for students who are more on the creative side. Digital Design is a CTE course offered here where you can create art with new state-of-the-art technology. Many students may associate CTE classes with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) classes but that isn’t necessarily true.

Buzun-Miller explains, “Digital Design is a mixture of technology and production. You receive the technical skills and know how to put it into action with a variety of fun and creative projects.”

Students will be able to go into career fields and have an edge over their competition by having creative and organized ways to project their ideas. Whether a student wants to go into the arts or become a banker, BuzunMiller offers quality academia to prepare students for any field.

Confident in herself and classes Buzun-Miller says, “These are useful outside in the real world and are known not just in the classroom setting. CTE classes are hands-on work-based classes that get you working on real-life problems and tasks.”

Lake Shore students can open up a lot of doors by taking CTE classes. These are hands-on examples and programs that get you ready for a professional career.
