A 17-year-old female Warren Cousino High School student told city police while walking home from school Wednesday she was approached by a man who attempted to lure her into his vehicle.

The incident occurred near Bunert Road and Masonic on Jenny Drive. The student recorded the incident with her cell phone and it was posted on several social media platforms on Wednesday evening.

According to Warren police, a preliminary investigation shows the student was walking home from school when she was approached by an unknown white male in a light colored, older model Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The student told police the man spoke to her and attempted to persuade her to get into his vehicle. On the video recorded by the student, the driver of the vehicle can be heard telling the student she looks cold and he could give her a ride. When she tells him she is 17 and walking home from high school, he responds by asking her “Have you ever been with a real man before?”

The man fled the scene when he became aware he was being recorded.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 35 years old with light brown hair and blue eyes. The Jeep Grand Cherokee is equipped with a black luggage rack and has damage near the left rear driver side door.

The student told police the suspect never exited his vehicle or used physical force in an attempt to get her into the Jeep. No weapons or threat of weapons were implicated in the incident.

Warren police are actively investigating this incident and pursuing several leads. Anyone with information should contact Det. John Moran at 586574-4707.
