D1 All-State

“Summer and Indya will certainly go down as the best female basketball players to walk the hallways of West Bloomfield High School. What separates them from others is their work ethic and the will to win,” McAllister said of the University of Georgia signees.

Indya Davis earned firstteam All-State honors, along with Holland West Ottawa’s Gabby Reynolds, Byron Center’s Lily Zeinstra and Salem’s Madison Morson — the top three in the Miss Basketball voting — as well as Rockford’s Anna Wypych, Belleville’s Sydney Savoury, Detroit Renaissance’s Anaya Hardy, Temperance-Bedford’s Victoria Gray, Grosse Pointe South’s Maddy Benard and Lowell’s Braxcynn Baker. Belleville’s Jason Wilkens and Bedford’s Bill Ryan shared coach of the year honors.

Indya Davis averaged 15.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 3.7 steals per game for West Bloomfield, which won a second state title in three seasons.

Farmington Hills Mercy’s Aizlyn Albanese (18.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists per game) and South Lyon East’s Anna Lassan (20 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 3.5 steals per game, 14 double-doubles) earned second-team honors. Lakeland’s Mike Leitheim was honorable mention coach of the year after leading the Eagles to a school-record 20 wins, a share of a first-ever Lakes Valley Conference title, part of the program’s first time winning both a league and district title in the same season.
