SMART unveils bus wrap dedicated to Arab American leaders
As president of the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce (CACC) and the Chaldean Community Foundation (CCF) of Sterling Heights, Martin Manna is seen by many people.
Now you’ll see him on a bus.
In honor of Arab American Heritage Month, Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART) has unveiled an empowering bus wrap that will feature five notable Arab American individuals who have made significant contributions across various fields throughout the state and Manna is one of them.
“Honoring the Arab American community’s contributions is essential to highlighting the region’s rich and diverse cultural heritage,” Dwight Ferrell, general manager of SMART said, in a news release.
As president of the chamber, Manna speaks for thousands of people on issues in Lansing while also advocating daily for their interests as Chaldean business owners in Michigan. In Sterling Heights the foundation oversees an agency that assists more than 40,000 individuals annually, providing services that include citizenship classes, employment, healthcare, housing, and transportation. He’s also one of the original publishers of the Chaldean News, which provides information and news to thousands of residents and immigrants.
He also extends his services to other civic and community affairs through his support of Advancing Macomb, Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, Corewell Health’s Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital, the Michigan Chamber of Commerce and the American University of Iraq — Baghdad. He serves on the Oakland County Land Bank committee, is a Trustee for Lawrence Technological University, and sits on the Michigan Advisory Committee for the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition.
”It is a privilege to help honor those who are making a difference in the community,” Manna said.
During April’s Arab American Heritage Month, SMART’s bus wrap will feature vivid images and narratives of outstanding Arab American leaders such as Manna who have made notable contributions across different industries.
“This bus wrap celebrates exceptional individuals who have made impactful achievements, inspiring future generations to embrace the spirit of innovation in health, business, technology, government and community service,” Ferrell said.
